Setting up your Verizon Online Email account using email software. Choose to set up your email software automatically or by following step-by-step instructions. Verizon just updated our email client settings to increase security.Check the settings below to ensure that your email software client has the most recent configuration.
Authenticate your Verizon Account Name and Password
Go to Tools - Accounts
- You'll need the following email settings:
- Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.verizon.net
- Incoming Server Port Numbers: 995
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.verizon.net
- Outgoing Server Ports: 465. Why is this important?
- Ensure that SSL encryption is enabled for the receiving and outgoing mail servers.

Authenticate your Verizon Account Name and Password
Go to Tools - Accounts
- ● Click on the "Mail" tab
- ● Click your account, then the "Properties" button.
- ● Click on the "Server" tab
- ● At the bottom, select the "My Server Requires Authentication" option.
- ● Click the "Settings" button
- ● Click the "Log On Using" radio button
- ● Please enter your Verizon account name and password here.
- ● Click Ok, Ok, Close Settings can be used to setup email on your desktop and smartphone devices.
