All being well, the Huawei Mate 9 is scheduled to be announced on November 3rd, and that naturally means that more leaks are coming as the release date draws close. Today we got a render of the high-end phablet from the leakster @evleaks, aka Evan Blass. It’s just a single image.
The image showcases the flat-screened Manhattan version (supposedly there is going to be a more premium dual-curved Long Island model); this particular model comes in a rose gold purple-like tint, which you can see below:
As you can tell, there’s a slight change in design from previous renders we have seen, and the lens properties have moved from the top to the side. We also see the Leica-branded (‘co-developed’) dual-camera setup, and it looks fairly final.
The other key aspect of the Mate 9 hardware is the Type-C USB port on the bottom, which is a nice advancement and keeps them very much up to date. Under the hood we get a Kirin 960 chipset. A 6-inch Full HD display seems like a safe bet for the Manhattan, at least. More info soon.
