Reliance Jio recently announced the launch of 5G services in certain Indian locations, making the announcement during the festival at the India Mobile Congress in October last month. Along with the introduction, the Jio 5G Welcome Offer raises more questions about whether their handsets would support Jio 5G under Jio 5G Supported Smartphones.
Areas now accessible include Delhi NCR, Mumbai, and Kolkata; Jio now intends to expand its stakes by deploying its 5G capacity to every city, taluka, and tehsil in India by the end of 2024. The standalone 5G service operates without a 4G network but may be accessed via the Jio 4G SIM on frequencies n28 (700 MHz), n78 (3500 MHz), and n258 (26 GHz).
Because people are so enthused about its rapid spread, all that remains is device compatibility certification. Some smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Realme, Oppo, OnePlus, iQOO, Vivo, and Xiaomi.
So, everyone should be riveted to their seats to learn about device compatibility between these companies, since Jio plans to deliver this 5G service to all Indian users shortly.

How Do You Know If Your Device Is Compatible with Jio's 5G Network? 5G is just a next-generation mobile technology that uses specified frequency bands to operate. Jio "True 5G" outperforms the competition, which is creating a non-standalone version of 5G on top of 4G by other operators, because other operators have built their backbones on 4G. Jio's 5G is presently supported by the bands n28, n78, and n258, respectively.
- Step 1: From your mobile device, access the Settings menu.
- Step 2: Select "SIM card & mobile data.".
- Step 3: Select any one SIM card.
- Step 4: Now look at SIM info and settings for the option ‘preferred network type.’.
- Step 5: Now according to the device, you should be getting network options, i.e., 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G.
Now if your device shows one of the 5G networks in the list of networks it can use, then your device is on a 5G network. It is just to use it now.
How can I activate Jio True 5G on a device?
First, check to see if your smartphone supports Jio 5G before using these advanced features. You should also check that your area has a current 5G network.
After confirming that your phone is compatible with 5G networks, you may follow these actions to activate and enjoy True 5G:
- Step 1: Open the “Settings” app.
- Step 2: In the settings menu, locate and choose "Mobile network.".
- Step 3: Choose the Jio SIM card you want to activate 5G with, then navigate to this menu and select the "Preferred network type" option.
- Step 4: Select the 5G option. And that’s all! You’re done!
When you pick 5G from your smartphone's status bar, you will see the 5G sign. This just means your phone is now linked to 5G services.
Make sure that mobile data is turned on and that Wi-Fi is turned off so that the 5G network can begin to function.
